GENERAL FESTIVAL INFORMATION
In celebration of the 30th founding anniversary of the
Jesus Is Lord Church, the Creative Arts Ministry (CAM) l
aunches its first Creative Arts Festival. Focusing on the
theme, LIVING OUT THE PLIFE, it is the Festival’s objective
to highlight the Church’s core values that make her
authentic in her spirit and genuine in her service.
Interpretation of the theme may be done through
various media that are identified under the
specified competition fields. Participants may
choose only one core value, from the five core values,
per entry.
THE JIL CHURCH CORE VALUES:
PARTICULAR FESTIVAL INFORMATION
1. Competition Fields
a. Short Film
b. Photography
c. Essay Writing
2. Manner of submission: Refer to particular competition
field.
3. Eligible to join: All bona fide members of the
JIL Church from Central, National, and International
Churches. Pastor's Recommendation required.
4. Top 10 pre-screened entries will be posted
at the www.jilworldwide.org from 01 February 2009
at 12am to 30 April 2009 at 12mn for text
and web voting.
5. There will be two (2) classifications of awards:
The Voters' Choice (one per field) and the Jury's Choice
(three per field). The latter will be exclusively based
on the criteria set by the jurors and none from
the voting percentage will affect the final outcome.
6. Awarding of winning entries will be held at the
Annual Creative Arts Ministry (CAM) Conference in
May 2009.
7. All entries become property of CAM of the
Jesus Is Lord Church and may be used for promotion,
presentation, and other Church programs and projects.
As such, all entries may not be published elsewhere
without the expressed written consent of CAM.
Particularly, use of winning entries without
expressed written consent will result in immediate
forfeiture of prizes and disqualification.
8. CAM reserves the right to change the contest rules
without prior notification.
9. CAM reserves the right to verify the validity and
originality of any entry and/or entrant
(including an entrant's identity and address) and
to disqualify any entrant who submits an entry
that is not in accordance with these Official Rules
or who tampers with the entry process.
10. The jurors’ decision on all matters relating to
the competition is final & binding.
COMPETITION FIELDS
A. SHORT FILM
1. Entries must be faithful to the theme.
2. Film should be in narrative form.
3. Running time is minimum of two (2) minutes
and maximum of five (5) minutes per film. Under
or beyond this is disqualified.
4. Entries may be in English or Filipino. However,
non-English entries must have English subtitles.
5. Entries must be on DVD copy, regardless of original
shooting format.
6. Three (3) DVD copies of the film must be submitted.
DVD copies must be playable on all regions.
No entry will be returned.
7. Entrants must submit copies of their entry along
with the official Entry Form and their resume
flat in a 9’ x 12’ envelope addressed to the CAM
Secretariat.

B. PHOTO CONTEST
1. Entries must be faithful to the theme.
2. Except from color-correction which is the
only altering allowed, entries must be in their
original and unmodified form, and must be the
original work of the contestant. Entries proven to
have been digitally altered aside from color-correction
or submitted under the name of another person
will be automatically disqualified.
3. Entries must be submitted in glossy 8R size print.
4. Entries must be in full color.
5. Maximum of 3 photos may be entered per entrant.
6. Digital file of the entries must also be submitted in CD.

addressed to the CAM Secretariat.

C. ESSAY WRITING
1. Entries must be faithful to the theme.
2. Entrants may submit only one (1) entry.
3. Entries must be original, not previously published
in print or online, and shall be within 1,000 to 1,500 words in English or Filipino.
4. Entries must be typewritten or computerized and
must follow this format:
a) 1.5-spaced, Tahoma size12
(no bold or italics);
b) printed out in 8.5’ x 11’ white bond
paper and stapled at the upper left hand corner;
c) with one-inch margin on all sides; and
d) paged in the lower right hand corner
(except first page).
5. Entrants must submit three (3) hard copies of his
or her entry.
6. Entrants must also submit a soft copy of their
work in MS Word document (.doc),
Rich Text File (.rtf), or PDF format in a CD or diskette.
7. Entrants must submit all hard and soft copies
of their entry along with the official Entry Form and
their resume flat in a 9’ x 12’ envelope addressed
to the CAM Secretariat.
8. Criteria for judging
- Substance and originality 50%
- Writing style, composition, and organization 50%

D. DIGITAL POSTER MAKING CONTEST
1. Entries must effectively communicate the chosen theme.
2. Entrants may submit only one (1) entry.
3. Hand drawn images, paintings, and layouts should
be manipulated, scanned, edited, and retouched
using digital paint or drawing programs.
4. Entries must be submitted in jpeg format, with
23 inch-width by 17 inch-height dimensions.

5. Cross-rendering or using of several drawing
software and technique to achieve the desired
design including 3D images, vectors, hand-drawn,
and hand-painted images is encouraged but is not
required.
6. All compositions must be original. The use of stock
photos is not allowed. Only originally owned
photographs must be incorporated in the composition.
